Important measuring rule

Ordinary doors and windows reduce the net area but normally do not remove complete drops: offcuts are still needed above and below the aperture. Only enter a full-height excluded width when that opening genuinely replaces complete strips. For half-drop or unusual matches, confirm the manufacturer's label and add extra allowance if required.
